I did it.
After so much thought, and planning, and searching — and finding — I said goodbye today to the office that has consumed so much of my time and energy over the past six years. (I will stop short of saying it was my home for six years, because even when I was spending entirely too much time there, it never could have been home. Way too white, and too neat.)
And even after all the frustration, and even with the promise of a new job that I’m excited for, it was hard to leave.
But I know that I’ll take the friendships I’ve made with me, and that it was time for a change. And, as usual, Gretchen Rubin showed up in my inbox with one of her pithy Happiness Project quotes at just the right time:
“They always say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” — Andy Warhol
